The Top Three 0% APR on Purchases Credit Cards of the New Year

It’s 2013 and that means you probably made some New Year’s resolutions. If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to apply for a credit card because you have some purchases coming up that you’d like to make with credit, then you may want to look into applying for a credit card that offers a 0% Introductory APR on purchases for a significant period of time. Researching all the different available credit cards can be tedious and time-consuming, so I’ve done the research for you.

Here are my picks for the best 0% Intro APR on purchases credit cards currently available:

Discover it

The new Discover it Card was launched by Discover earlier this month. Discover is looking to “change the way people think about credit cards” with the Discover it card. With the Discover it Card, cardholders receive a 0% Intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 14 months. In addition, there is no annual fee, and cardholders also receive 5% cash back at restaurants and movies through March of 2013 on up to $1,500 in purchases, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. Lastly, Discover offers a $0 Fraud Liability Guarantee to cardholders of the Discover it Card. In my opinion, the Discover it Card is one of the best credit cards on the market.

Citi Simplicity

The Citi Simplicity Card is second on my list of the best 0% Intro APR on purchases cards. The Citi Simplicity Card offers a 0% Intro APR on both purchases and balance transfer for 18 months. In addition, cardholders are not required to pay an annual fee to own the Citi Simplicity Card. If the Citi Simplicity Card offered more rewards, it would top this list.

Capital One Platinum Prestige

The Platinum Prestige Card from Capital One rounds out my list of the best 0% Intro APR on purchases credit cards currently available. With the Capital One Platinum Prestige Card, cardholders receive a 0% Introductory APR on both purchases and balances transfers until March of 2014. In addition, the Capital One Platinum Prestige Card requires no annual fee, offers a $0 Fraud Liability if the card is stolen, and offers 24-hour roadside assistance, as well as the ability to choose a customized image for the front of your credit card.

There is fierce competition between credit card companies right now, and this bodes well for the consumer. Take advantage of some of these stellar credit card offers and you will be well on your way to starting 2013 off with a personal finance bang!
