I was especially interested in the story about the Canadian homeowner who didn&#039;t do it correctly and couldn&#039;t sue as a result. The frustrating thing is, even when you do it all right, it can be wrong. I hired a licensed plumber (Better Biz Bureau and all), he did some work for me. When we were finishing I made some comment about the permit, which I had assumed he had gotten. He had NOT. Fortunately we were able to go thru the city and work around it.
